Has OS 4.0 done away with “rate on delete”?

We’ve all done it. Downloaded an app and then decided that it was so bad it wasn’t even worth taking up the space on one of your 9 iPhone home pages. So after determining that this app is so terrible and deleting it we get the familiar pop up asking us to “please rate before deleting”. Well . . . I’m deleting it, how do you think I feel about it??
It seems to me this is setting that app up to get a rating that is skewed. I have dozens of apps on my phone that I love that I wouldn’t dream of deleting, and yet I’ve never taken the time to go and rate them. And yet I’ve rated every app I’ve deleted. Hmm.
Well, it appears that OS 4.0 has done away with this feature and probably to the relief of app developers everywhere. Those using OS 4.0 beta have reported that this feature is missing. Whether it’s permanently missing or temporarily missing remains to be seen. But maybe if it does come back I’ll be a bit more forgiving in my ratings. Maybe.
