A few days ago we covered how to take a screen shot on your iPad. But what if you just want to save a single image? Perhaps you want to save a photo someone has sent you from Mail, or maybe you want to save a friend’s Facebook profile picture to use as their Contact image.

It’s very simple. Tap and hold the image and two options will appear:

Copy – will save it to the clipboard to be pasted elsewhere

Save Image – will save the image in your Photos

In Safari there are two additional options that will pop up: Open and Open in New Page

This will not work in every App on the iPad, mainly in Mail and Safari. So when tapping and holding the image does not produce the desired options then you can also take a screenshot and crop the photo later.
