I have never (knock on wood) lost a cell phone or laptop, but I know people who have and it’s a nightmare. Not only are you out hundreds or even thousands of dollars but all of your personal information is now just out there and if you didn’t back it up you’ve lost it forever. If your device was stolen there’s not much you can do, but what if it was merely misplaced? I’ve been using the Apple iPad case ($39.99) for almost a week now and I’m ready to talk about it.

Short version: The case is highly functional, acceptable looking and priced right. I am happy enough with my purchase but will be on the look out for something better and I’m confident it won’t be too long before there is a much better option on the market.

If ten hours of battery life is not enough for you then HyperMac to the rescue. HyperMac has long been making external batteries for Macbooks and they now have a line for the iPad.

The batteries are rechargeable up to 1000 times and come with a one year warranty. There are four models to choose from:

• 60Wh for $199.95
• 100Wh for $299.95
• 150Wh for $399.95
• 222Wh for $499.95

Those prices also include cables for running your MacBook from the battery as well. According to the company, these batteries can extend the iPad’s internal battery by roughly two to nine times, providing for a total run-time of between 34 and 99 hours depending on the battery model.

If, like most people, you find that 10 hours of battery life is more than enough you mind balk at these prices. But for those who might find themselves away from any power source for days at a time these can be fantastic.

If you’ve tried to use the iPad on a couch or in bed than you’ve probably propped it up with a pillow at least once. Well Quirky has a lap desk to replace that pillow.

The cradle is made of Plyboo, a bamboo plywood, a features a lazy susan-like turntable in the center to change the iPad from portrait to landscape. Interesting.

There are three main functions of an iPad case; protection, comfortable typing and hands free viewing. The Clamcase adds another to the list; built in keyboard.

The Clamcase‘s website is down at the moment due to heavy traffic so obviously this is stirring up a lot of interest. What do you think? Is the Clamcase the case of choice?

You wouldn’t let your children leave the house naked would you? So why would you let your precious iPad run around unclothed. Louis Vuitton has you covered.

I’m not such a fan of the case on the left but the case on the right with the classic LV look is pretty hot. For $366 these cases are pretty spendy. You can almost get a second iPad for that price. But for those that can afford it this is a fantastic accessory.

Sprint is releasing a case for the iPad and at the same time plugging their 4G Overdrive hotspot modem.

Using a MiFi or mobile hotspot device  with a Wi-Fi only iPad can be a great alternative to a 3G iPad. And if you decide to go with the Sprint Overdrive you can surf the web on 4G in a growing number of cities. I have to say that the iPad is pretty darn fast on 3G already so, while I do live by the motto that faster is always better, the Overdrive is a pretty bulky modem to carry around and only has 3 hours of battery life. This seems to defeat the purpose of the super light iPad with 10 hours of battery life. Being able to run up to 5 devices off of the modem is a bonus.

However, this looks like a pretty nice leather case and if you decide to go with the Overdrive seems like a great choice.

With all the confusion around which USB ports can charge iPads and which can’t this seems like a fantastic product.

The Scosche reVIVE II Dual USB Charger for the wall ($29.99) or car ($24.99) has a 2.1 amp USB port for charging the iPad and a separate 1 amp USB port for charger an additional device.

These are temporarily out of stock at the moment, but really when it comes to iPads and iPad accessories everything is out of stock these days. But I think this is worth noting and coming back when they have more inventory. These days we can charge most of our devices with USB cords and often wall outlets are at a minimum so being able to charge to devices from one outlet is ideal.
