Apple sues Samsung!
by J.J. on Apr.18, 2011, under iPad News
It looks like top dogs are fighting for dominance again.

The words “copyright” and “infringement” are being thrown around by Apple. They claim that the Samsung Galaxy and the Galaxy tab are the spitting image of the iPhone and the iPad. Specifically, the lawsuit says, ”Rather than innovate and develop its own technology and a unique Samsung style for its smart phone products and computer tablets, Samsung chose to copy Apple’s technology, user interface and innovative style in these infringing products.”
Now I have on several occasions mistaken a Samsung Galaxy for an iPhone but does that justify a lawsuit. We’ll have to wait and see.
Ironically, these two companies are not just competitors they also have a business relationship. You see, Apple uses Samsung parts in their devices. Awkward!
iPad 2 sold out!
by J.J. on Mar.21, 2011, under iPad News
It is estimated that Apple sold 500,000 iPad 2′s in the first weekend, even more than the 300,000 original iPad’s sold in the first weekend last year. Stores all over the country are sold out and the estimated shipping delays on Apple’s website are 4-5 weeks!

A poll by Piper Jaffray reveals that 70% of the new iPad’s were sold to new buyers. While Apple stores and Best Buys all across the nation are receiving shipments for sale they immediately. So you have three options if you’re hoping to get a brand new iPad 2; place an online order and wait 4-5 weeks, stalk your local stores to try to nab one of the new shipments or purchase one from resellers scalping iPads at as much as a 200% markup. Yikes!
How to save $100 of your brand new iPad!
by J.J. on Mar.10, 2011, under iPad News
Does that sound to good to be true? Well, all you have to do to save $100 is buy the original iPad not the iPad 2.

Apple has now marked down the original iPad’s by$100 meaning you can buy the baseline first generation iPad for $399. This means that Apple has just made the iPad that much more accessible to users looking for great technology at an affordable price. If a user doesn’t need the extra processing speed and the cameras they can get an incredible device in the original iPad. This means that parents buying gifts for their children, companies looking to supply staff with iPad’s and even the older generation are now that much more likely to turn to the iPad and at $399 it really is a great deal!

iPad 2 is here!
by J.J. on Mar.02, 2011, under iPad News, iPad Unboxed
Just as predicted Apple debuts the new iPad 2 in March. However, not all the predictions about features came true.
So what is new?
- iPad 2 is 33% thinner and 15% lighter
- Dual core A5 chip
- Improved graphics
- Front and back cameras for Facetime and Photobooth
- Apple Smart Cover
- Option of the color white
- Usage of either the AT&T or Verizon network
- Plug and play with TV’s and Projectors
That’s a lot of new features! So what’s missing? Well in the months of speculation leading up to the announcement today there was talk of an SD card slot, multiple screen size options, retina display and a USB port. But I’m not surprised to see these features missing. It’s possible they will show up in future versions, but I think by now we all know that Apple doesn’t add features just for features sake.
What do you think? If you have a first generation iPad is this is enough to make you upgrade? For those of you who have waited, are you ready to buy?

Now each and every room at the prestigious Plaza Hotel will have an iPad. Pretty swanky. From their iPad guests can order room service, make restaurant reservations, request wake up calls, check airline schedules and even control the rooms lighting, heating and air conditioning. The hotel had a special app designed by ICE software (Interactive Customer Experience) to provide this unique experience.
